Cozinha (actualização) / Kitchen (update)

A cozinha foi um projecto muito ponderado, tanto tempo que lá passamos (bem, não eu propriamente mas o A...). Optamos por uma cozinha do Ikea, porque tinha exactamente os detalhes que nós queríamos, principalmente o lava loiças e os tampos de madeira:

The kitchen was  a very thoughtful project, so much time that we spent there (well, not myself but A ...). we choose an Ikea kitchen, because it had exactly the details we wanted, especially the farm sink and the wooden tops:

A instalação não correu muito bem, tiveram de agendar e voltar a agendar por 4 vezes, por engano nas medidas, nos materiais, enfim, ao fim de quase dois meses  ficou pronta

The installation didn't went well, had to schedule and reschedule 4 times, by mistake in the measures, materials, and finally, after almost two months was ready

Os apliques, que foram amor à primeira vista, vieram da Holanda

Vestiário / Mudroom

A nossa casa de banho social tem uma ante câmara que resolvemos utilizar para pendurar uns casacos e descalçar os sapatos quando entramos em casa ou quando temos visitas, apesar de não se situar mesmo à entrada da casa:

Our social bathroom has an chamber that we decided to use to hang coats and to take off our shoes when we enter the house or when we have visitors, although it is not in the entrance of the house:

O candeeiro veio através do Ebay  /  The lamp came through Ebay

Parecia-nos muito despido por isso decidimos colocar um papel de parede, pesquisamos na net e mandamos vir de um site "papelpintadoonline.com/pt" a preço muito acessível.

It looked very naked so we decided to put a wallpaper, we searched in the net and had it come from a website "papelpintadoonline.com" at a very affordable price.

O banco já tínhamos e encaixou aqui na perfeição

Casa de banho social / Social bathroom

Voltando à onda das casas de banho, hoje mostro-vos a casa de banho social, que foi o meu projecto especial.

De facto, os nossos gostos e perspectiva vão variando ao longo do tempo e eu tenho uma clara noção dessas mudanças porque já passei por algumas casas, três das quais acompanhei a construção desde o início e pude escolher os materiais. Por exemplo, quando escolhi os materiais do meu apartamento em Bragança, escolhi azulejos iguais e neutros (creme) para a cozinha e para as casas de banho. Pretendi uniformidade e algo que não me cansasse com o tempo, resultado, ficou aborrecido! Muito bonito para quem entrava pela primeira vez mas com o tempo dava sono... 

Isto para dizer que nesta casa, escolhemos azulejos diferentes para as diferentes casas de banho, sem que entrem em conflito uns com os outros, claro :)

Going back to the the bathrooms, today I show you the social bathroom, which was my special project.

In fact, our tastes and perspectives change along the time and I have a clear notion of these changes because I have been through a few houses, three of which I followed the construction from the beginning and I was able to choose the materials. For example, when I chose materials from my apartment in Bragança, I chose the same neutral tiles (cream) for the kitchen and bathrooms. I wanted uniformity and something that did not tire me over time, result, was boring! Very cute for the first time but in time it was sleepy ...

This is to say that in this house, we choose different tiles for the different bathrooms without conflicting with each other, of course :)

Na casa de banho social o tema foi preto e branco (como é óbvio):

O móvel é do Ikea mas, como já sabem ser meu hábito, os puxadores foram mudados (comprados numas férias em Amsterdão quando começei a pensar no assunto) para uns a preto e branco.

The furniture is from Ikea but, as you already know to be my habit, the handles have been changed (bought on a holiday in Amsterdam when I started to think about it) to black and white.

A torneira, a imitar as bombas de água para tirar água do poço foi encomendada no Ebay e deita água em cascata, é um charme

The faucet, mimicking the water pumps to draw water from the well, with a cascade water, was bought on Ebay , is a charm

Papel de parede a imitar madeira, também veio de Amesterdão

DIY - Cadeiras / Chairs

Uma amiga minha comprou uma casa em segunda mão que tinha uma série de móveis antigos que ela não queria aproveitar. Do conjunto eu escolhi uma série deles, entre os quis o móvel da casa de banho que vos mostrei aqui, outro móvel que quando o recuperar também vos vou mostrar e um conjunto de 4 cadeiras e uma mesa extensível. Hoje mostro-vos a recuperação das cadeiras.

A friend of mine bought a second-hand home that had a number of antique furniture she did not want. From the set I chose some, among them it was the furniture of the bathroom that I showed you here, another furniture that when I recover I also will show you and a set of 4 chairs and an extendable table. Today I show you the recovery of the chairs.

O tecido foi um retalho que comprei em Campo de Ourique sem saber qual o destino, só porque achei que iria ficar bem em qualquer coisa e porque foi um grande pedaço por menos de 5 euros.

The fabric was a retail I bought in Campo de Ourique without knowing the destination, just because I thought it would look good on something and because it was a big piece for less than 5 euros.

O destino desta cadeira acabou por ser outro, uma vez que recuperei as outras três e ficavam bem todas juntas, depois farei um update!

The destination of this chair turned out to be another, since I recovered the other three and they match well together, later I will make an update!

DIY - Protecção de escadas / Protection of stairs

Quando se chega quase ao fim de uma obra, principalmente quando se tem um orçamento muito limitado, há opções que têm de se fazer porque não dá para tudo. As escadas foi uma das decisões que tivemos de tomar. Todos os orçamentos eram muito elevados, a começar nos três mil e quinhentos euros por isso decidimos aventurar-nos a fazê-los. Ficou 100 % ? Não. Mas serve e protege até podermos mandar fazer  por profissionais e, apenas gastamos 200 € em materiais. A mão de obra foi oferta da casa :)

When you come almost to the end of a construction of a house, especially when you have a very limited budget, there are options you have to make. The stairs was one of that the decisions. All budgets were very high, starting at three thousand five hundred euros so we decided to venture out to do them. Is it 100%? No. But it's enough and protects until we can order by professionals and we only spend € 200 on materials. The labor was house's offer :)

Os postes foram aparafusados à parede. Não é fácil, um parafuso entra lindamente e o seguinte só entra metade, foi problema atrás de problema e parecia tão simples... As medidas foram outro desafio, a direito não tem nada que saber mas na diagonal, com os desníveis e patamares, medimos e voltamos a medir vezes sem conta!

The posts were bolted to the wall. It's not easy, a screw comes in beautifully and the next only comes in half, it was problem behind problem and it seemed so simple ... The measures were another challenge, straight is easy but on the diagonal, with the gaps and levels, we measure and measure  again and again !

Tivemos muito medo de fazer este projecto e está longe de perfeito mas, para já, atingiu os seus objectivos!

We were very scared to do this project and it is far from perfect but for now it has achieved its goals!
